The Kentucky Striper Club
****NEXT MEETING!!****

Rod Doyle and Roger Hahn after a November 18 Striper fishing trip on Lake Cumberland. No big fish, but a great first day back after having the boat on Harrods Creek for the Summer.
Tournament Saturday, October 22nd at Lake Cumberland
RESULTS

Six guys enjoyed another day on Lake Cumberland with great friends, great weather,
fabulous fall foliage and super dinner with more fresh fried fish that the group could eat.
Fish prepared and cooked by Chuck Good and Peter Maloney and as always everything else pulled together by Paul McDonogh

The winning fish was Paul McDonogh's with a weight of 5.5
pounds and the second place 5.3 pound fish caught
on Captain Lucian Doyle's boat with 1st mate Chuck Good and demoted 2nd mate Roger Hahn fishing with him.
Also caught were 7 Bass, 5 Catfish and one other Striper
Professor Pete instructing class in "Cast Net 401"
Finally, some more pictures of Stripers, and not surprisingly,
caught by Tom Lacher. 16 & 18 pounders measuring 35.6 and 37.25.
Attached are pictures I took at our weigh-in Saturday. The I-rule winner is Rob with a 5+ pound striper and both Scott's and Donnie's were 5 minus. Lots of rain and a cold front made fishing tough. Good friends and good food made it fun. Peter has the actual weights of the fish weighed in Saturday I hope. Don't know how the weigh-in at Low-gap on Sunday went and if anyone had more fish. Jeff Wise and I couldn't catch a keeper.---Paul
Actual sizes: Rob-5.22, Scott-4.96, Donnie-4.87
Recent Catches
Here's the result of a trip on New Year's Eve with Rod and George Doyle and a friend who went out with guide Mike Beckham out of Alligator 2.
They boated 11, 7 were keepers, and kept the limit with (2) largest at 29".

You always hear about the one that got away--
But you never, till now, see a picture of it!

This was the first keeper caught on a recent trip Rod Doyle and Roger took to Cumberland. Instead of going up front in the cold to put the fish in the cooler, we pulled it alongside on a stringer, like we have done many times before, only to find it cut the line and got away. We don't learn fast, but we learn good. Won't be doing that again for a while.

Todd Hahn and Kristie with the only fish we caught in two mornings of fishing the 4th @ 5th of 2009.
Not the best two mornings of fishing, but I had worse, once.

Below are some pictures of the winners of the May 30-31 tournament and
Paul McDonogh's comments about catch: "Attachd are some of the pictures of the fish John and I caught this past weekend. All were caught on
Slivers. The big one was 37.5 inches and took over 30 minutes to land. The next was 25 inches and 3 & 4 were 24 inches. We clamed 38 pounds
for the 4 fish two day tournament. We caught a total of 6 stripers two walleyes and one smallmouth with most fish caught between 2 and 3 AM.
The boat picture is of Lucian. Can you pick him out? I think that there are a total of five pictures if you can find them.--- Paul"
